Welcome to my blog! My name is Julia Dolińska and I am attorney-at-law specialising in the legalisation of stay of foreigners in Poland.
Several years ago, I was a foreigner myself. I left my home country of Poland and settled in Belgium. I had my first job there after studying law. I experienced the difficulties of dealing with the complicated administrative procedures related to legalisation of stay. I also faced a language barrier. Although I knew French, I was not fluent enough to communicate efficiently with officials.
This experience showed me how important legal support is for a person who arrives in a new country with the intention of staying longer. Immigration law is not only about regulations indicating who can legally stay in Poland, when, in what situation and for how long. It is also about administrative procedures, proceedings before authorities and sometimes before administrative courts. Moreover, everything is done in Polish. I know that for many foreigners this is extremely complicated. I was in such a situation myself!
That is why I decided to start this blog. I will share here my knowledge and experience related to legal residence in Poland. You will find here information concerning residence permits, administrative proceedings leading to obtaining a permit or appeals against negative decisions.
I hope you will find here useful information and support. You are welcome to read!
